A Smooth Delivery
"How are we going to do that?"
Smoothly and successfully is the answer. Eight months after the project's funding the Time Machine (or Tidsmakine) is today in the middle of its delivery phase, and it is a success. No glitches, no failures... But how did we made it?
I will try here to synthesize the main success criteria, how a fresh startup can mange an eight months project:
- First thing first, we have been discussing long hours over the project set up. Each of us brought arguments and preferences to the table. We have been managing the open communication throughout the project development, balancing between the different opinions and always respecting each other's role.
- Accountability has been a key decision making tool. Dialogue and feedbacks are powerful elements of a successful design project, but sometimes they might collide with the need for decisions to be taken. We have been using accountability and individual responsibilities to speed the decision making process when it was needed.
- As last key element I have chosen calmness. Stress is not known to be a loved aspect of project management, but it is still part of it. We have been helping each other in keeping a relaxed environment. We used breaks to recharge and most of all, we had fun.
These are the building blocks I can today recognize. It was a first time for all of us, and I am sure we will discover more positive and negative aspects of the project during our upcoming critique session.
In the meanwhile, we look forward to expand our portfolio, and have fun...
Next week I will post a project review with insights and visuals
